Used Tires – A large proportion of tires sold by tire resellers are used.  This does not mean that the tires have been used to the extent of being worn out.  Since rental car companies must keep new tires on their vehicles, they are one source of quality used tires.  Another source  of used tires is so-called program cars, that is, lease returns or factory demo vehicles.  If you wan to find an excellent way to purchase the tires you need at a reasonable cost, you should definitely look into buying used tires.  Check the tread remaining on the tires.  It should be no less than fifty percent, although you can find tires with as much as ninety percent tread remaining.

New Tires – New tires will give you the peace of mind that no one has abused or otherwise damaged them.  In addition, you may be able to save money because the tires have been marked down.  For example, a tire reseller may mark down his old stock of tires because new tires have been received, and there is a lack of room for everything.  The old tires must be cleared out of inventory, so the price is reduced.  Also, if a tire reselling company is able to purchase in large quantities, it may be able to offer the consumer lower pricing. 

Discontinued Tires – Occasionally, a manufacturer will stop making a particular style of tire, in order to concentrate on another design.  These discount discontinued tires are a great way to save cash, while getting brand new tires for your vehicle.  The fact that the manufacturer has discontinued a particular line of tires does not affect their quality, thus being an excellent way to save money.  At the same time, if you choose a respected and large volume reseller, you can find a variety of performance, low profile, touring, all-terrain, or off-road tires.
